Opioid Dependence

Many pain conditions are treated with opioid medication, one of the most addictive drug compounds on the market. Sometimes, a patient will take opioids for years, inadvertently becoming dependent on their medication. Opioids can include Morphine, Hydromorphone, Codeine, Oxycodone, and Hydrocodone, for example.

Opioid dependence can be treated with Suboxone or Methadonein in the aspecialized centers. Suboxone is a combination of two drugs: Buprenorphine and Naloxone. These two drugs work together to block the effects of opioids, and ultimately reduce a patient’s dependence on opioid medication, making it easier to reduce or eliminate opioid dependence.
